Hello again,
Dear Friends and Family,
Greetings from Beautiful Thailand. The weather has cooled down to 90 degrees F (32C) so we are feeling cold by comparison to April and May. It’s the rainy season, so everything is green and fresh. It’s the kind of green that jumps out at you each morning and says, “How ya going? Have a great day.”
Fun English we encounter daily.
Looking Back:
Mission Consultants International: Linking Ministries and Professionals Together: is off the ground, with its first project completed. TLC church website design. (And if they were to send me some text I could put that up as well.)
For 2 months we have been translating (Over 60,000 Words so far) Bible Study materials on Cell Churches into Thai. The translation process has been challenging and rewarding, as we learn new words and concepts in Thai. I don’t think one can ever stop learning a second language.
Up Next:
Sea Gypsies of Ranong (Southern Thailand): Sean leaves for Ranong Tuesday (July 27) and will be teaching the Cell Church material over several days (along side a Malaysian Pastor) to leaders of a Church plant amongst the Sea Gypsies. Please pray for Sean as he travels and teaches in Thai for 3 days straight. Pray for this church to be strong in the Lord and for the work to multiply.
In September (9 – 16), Sean and his Dad, Art, will be jet-setting off to Phnom Phen & Stung Treng, Cambodia to teach a seminar and mini DTS. They’ll be teaching a variety of topics to church leaders and members. Pray for Sean and Dad as they travel. Cambodia has some creative forms transport and cuisine for them to enjoy while they fellowship with believers there.

Looking forward:
We have been invited to lead a Discipleship Training School (DTS) in Tampa, Florida, and after much prayer, we have accepted. We intend to travel to the States in early January, and will be based at YWAM Tampa for 3 months, as we lead and teach the students. The DTS will have a Performing Arts focus, so Anne is excited to be able to offer input in the area of her gifting in the arts, as well as learn from others. Sean is excited to have a group of young people to mentor with the hopes that some will want to join his vision. After the training then we will take the students for a 2-month outreach to Asia.
Before we travel to the USA, we are hoping to join Anne’s family in Australia for a special Christmas Family Reunion. It’s been several years since we were able to celebrate Christmas in Australia (I think 6 years, maybe more), and this year will be extra special for the family. It is unlikely that everyone will able to be reunited like this again for a long time to come. The cost of air tickets to Australia plus America is very forbidding. It’s our strong desire to be part of this reunion. Read below for more details.
Timothy's Dedication
Travel and other Expenses.
We are asking for special prayer with regard to the finances needed for travel and living. We would also request that you pray and ask God if you are to give into any of these areas.
- September brings us to our next 90-day visa run. We need to decide where we will go this time (Cambodia or Malaysia?). It usually costs around $500 for all of us to travel by air to a neighboring country to get our visas, plus another $300 for the visas. The good news is that YWAM Thailand is creating a foundation and we hope to be approved for Work Permits under it in September.
- Australia: We priced tickets between $625 and $750 per/person (total $2500 to $3000 for 4 of us), but this price will increase dramatically soon. We cannot use a credit card to pay for this, so we are praying for provision and if the money comes in by October, then we will book tickets and go.
- USA: The price given to us was $1250 pp ($5000 for 4 of us). Again, this price will increase as the time draws near. Perhaps a church could subsidize this, and Sean would be happy to teach at a mission conference, youth event, or help the church by offering the services of MCI in a practical way.
- Ongoing need for support: we are currently receiving about half our monthly budget due to dramatic economic shifting. One primary need we have is for health coverage. We are looking for a local Thai in surance company that will accept us in the hopes that this will cover some of our medical needs at a lower cost.
If you would like to give into any of these needs then see the end of this email for details on giving.
Family Stuff
The last few weeks have been full of adventure. But this last week has been a whirlwind.
It all started on July 11. Samantha ate Anne’s wedding rings. She vomited one up, but the other one went all the way down.
A 10 day rigorous cleaning process.
Later that day, Timothy had a sudden fever, which continued for about 4 days. We later discovered that he had contracted the mild strain of Dengue that was going around. Nearly every kid at the Home of Joy Orphanage has gotten it. Timothy was miserable for the week, but recovered by Friday.
Did you know that Dengue mosquitoes come out in the day and Malaria mossies in the morning and evening?
Then on Sunday, Sean broke his toe at church. I spent the entire day at hospitals – we took Sean for xrays and then I had to take Samantha to her doctor for xrays because she had not ‘produced’ the ring by Sunday evening. Mrs. Pessimist was waiting for something bad to happen to me, but then I just decided that I wasn’t gonna allow that to happen! Finally, after 10 days, the ring arrived cleverly packaged. Sean’s toughing it out with his broken toe, even with the kids jumping on his foot and poking it. You can read about these adventures in more detail on Anne’s blog.

Thanks for Praying
