Dear Friends and Family,
Fun Engrish
Looking Back:
Ranong
After months of translation and preparation I arrived to discover that there would be a change of plans. The Cell-Group training was specifically designed for Church leaders and church planters. Many of the people who showed up were young Christians. So, Pastor Charlie from SIBKL trained the trainers in Cell Group Methods while I had to pull a rabbit out of the hat. In Asia the most important skill a missionary can have is flexibility. I proceeded to teach in Thai for the next 3 days on Hearing God's Voice, Spiritual Disciplines, & Evangelism. The leaders in the other seminar were envious of our group because we spent a lot of our time laughing. I hope it wasn’t all directed at me.

Sean Preaching
Morgens a.k.a. Sea Gypsies:
We got to visit with this group of people who were heavily impacted by the Tsunami. Sadly, to this day they feel the effects and devastation of the aftermath of the tragedy. This group of people are among the poorest and most destitute that Sean has ever seen in his life.

Pangna
We then visited the Nakatsukassa’s Baan Santisuk in Pangna. They are doing an incredible job and we had lots of fun with their orphans.

I forgot to bring my digital camera. These are kids from the church in Cambodia.
Ministering with Sean’s parents
Art and Ellen spend up to 6 months each year in Asia traveling and ministering throughout the region. We think it's because they miss their grandchildren (LOL). They use our home as their home base.

Sean, Art, Students
All of us set off for Cambodia to renew our visas. Then Sean and his dad Art headed up North to Stungtreng to teach for a week (Sept. 9-16) on Hearing The Voice of God & The Character of God at a mini-DTS (Discipleship Training School). They had lots of fun teaching together and built lots of great relationships with the youth.

Sean and the guys
Meanwhile Anne and Ellen and the kids flew back to Chiangmai where they had the privilege of teaching the first week of the Chiangmai DTS (Sept. 13-17). They also taught on Hearing the Voice of God. It seems that word is getting around that the Sanborn family has a spiritual authority to teach on this topic. It was fun teaching together and it was good practice for January when we will be leading a Performing Arts DTS together. Samantha and Timothy grew very close to their grandparents during their 2 month stay and miss them very much.

Flying around doing ministry

We visited the wonderful Chrestos ministry of the Atkinsons in Maesarieng.
Lead Performing Arts DTS: Tampa Florida
In January we will fly to Florida where we have been asked to lead a Performing Arts DTS, and then we will take them on outreach to Thailand. We and Sean’s parents are working on getting out posters, arranging speakers schedules, and coping with a daily flood of interested students and getting student visas for international students. We are very delighted that one young lady from Chiang Mai City Gate Church will be joining us for the training. With 4 months to go we already have over 8 students.

Evangelism
Recently Sean went out to do evangelism with Bruce Geske. We have been strategizing how to communicate the gospel more effectively to people whose world view is so completely different. For instance, their word for "God" is watered down and closer in meaning to just "Lord".

We believe a key to evangelism is indigenous worship. Each meeting in Cambodia was led with traditional worship.
Travel
After Art and Ellen left we have been working to set up outreach locations for our upcoming Performing Arts DTS.
We investigated Phitsanulok, Phrae, Den Chai & Lampang. We have been trying to get to Phitsanulok since May of this year, but have encountered a lot of roadblocks. So finally, last week we said, “This is it. If we don't go now, we'll run out of time.” Click to read about our adventure.
While we were there, Sean edited a map of Thailand, showing the areas that are most reached and least reached in our target area - Northern Thailand, between Chiang Mai and Phitsanulok. We were able to see more clearly the areas that have the greatest need and where we might like to go.

The glowing areas show which areas have Christians. The dark areas are places that have never heard the name of Jesus.
This year we have had to travel a lot due to Thailand visa problems. Fortunately, YWAM Chiangmai has finally created a foundation. So next year when we return we won’t have to spend so much money or time on leaving the country.
Health
For some reason we have all been sick a lot this year. From a mild case of Dengue to strep throat and even a broken toe. You can read more about this here.
Bless Chiang Mai Children's Prayer 2010
Anne will be involved in the Bless Chiang Mai Children's Prayer Event on Friday November 12, 2010. Using creative arts and prophetic prayer, crafts, dance & drama we'll teach the children how to pray and hear God's voice. Please pray for us as we get these kids involved in prayer that will shape this Nation. We are praying that a children's prayer movement will be birthed out of this event and will sweep the nation.
Kairos Missions Course
From 29 Nov. until 3 Dec. we will be attending a Perspectives Family Course teaching about Christian discipleship and cross-cultural ministry (biblical, historical, cross-cultural and strategic perspectives of the Christian faith). It is our intent to become Kairos trainers.

New MacBookPro Computer-FREE
Lately, Anne’s computer has been dying so on a whim she entered a Logos Bible Software competition and against all odds WON a FREE Mac Book Pro. More information on my blog.
Upcoming Travel
We went ahead and bit the bullet to travel to Australia for the family reunion in December before we go to the States. We are so grateful for the $2,389 that friends and family have pitched in to help towards the necessary $5,578.73 we need to pay for all of the flight costs to both Australia the USA.

Thanks for Your Prayers
